Okay here is another update of my street, I have made most of the textures more.. texturable, I have also added another big building. I have also straightened out the roofs. Finally I have been adding a few trees too. Here is what it looks like so far.

3DS Max Trees
We have found trees that are already within 3DS Max so we used them for a bit, we can edit any part of the tree, size of leaves, branches, trunk, roots and also choose to remove them too. Here is a basic tree.
Bin in 3DS Max
We have made a bin in 3DS Max today and also a better scenery background. First of all we started with the background. We used a coloured version and a black and white version. We went on maps, clicked on bump, uploaded the black and white version on the coloured version. Then increased the number on the bump and done.
Now for the bin, a cylinder where we increased the size of the top slightly, deleted the face on the top, then went on material editor, multi/sub object and set the amount on two. Next I clicked on the first one and uploaded a wire frame, then I uploaded another into the opacity setting which made the black transparent. I then uploaded a second wire frame on the second material. Sorted out the shadow, put grey on the base and flipped it. That is all, here is an image of my final bin design.

Final Project Update
Now I have spent alot of time into this project. I have reached the halfway point mark, here is what I have managed to do.

Brick pile
Now I have made a pile of bricks that will be viewed in my final project. This will be for the old houses where they are falling apart. Here is a printscreen of my work.
Practise
Here are some more stuff I have done, this is just me practising. I have made a quick tunnel in this piece. Then I just slapped on the stone texture. Here is a screenshot.
Next I have done a simple three house street view of houses with a simple background. I haven't added doors or windows to this one yet but here is a screenshot.
Egypt
Here is some practise that I have done with 3DS Max. I have decided to try and make a simple piece of Egypt. I have made a plain with some pyramids and slapped on the sand texture on them. Here is a screenshot.
Lamp Post
Another thing I have done is a lamp post. Here I have made a cylinder, then I beveled the cylinder and extruded the circle in the centre. Next i curved the top of the cylinder and extruded again and finally i curved it again. Here is my lamp post with light.
3dS Max Line Lathe method.

WINDOW!
Next we have made a window, first of all I made two blocks, one thin for the frame, and one for the cut out, I then put the cut out block in the frame block. I then went onto compound objects and clicked on boolean. I finally pressed operand B, which cut it out. Here is the frame.
I then made the glass, I used a thin cube. which i entered material editor, I then increased the specular level and the glossiness. I then added colour onto self illumination which is a light blue and severely lowered the opacity. I finally put the glass in the frame, here is my result.

Practise on a plank of wood
Okay now today we have been practising with a plank of wood on 3DS Max, what I have done is made a thin rectangle with a cube and put the height segments on four. I then converted it into polygons. I then extruded the top and the third section. Then I used bevel to smooth out and bring out the extruded areas. I then added a texture which I used my molten rock on the plank. I finally added omni light to the image. If the textures were looking a bit blurry then I would end up taking it apart with the UVW maps. Here are screenshots of my work. Also the top screenshot is me putting a wall on a floor.

3D building plans
I have a few plans for what I will be doing for the 3D street. I am going to make a completely new street with a few buildings that are complex and a few simple buildings, although it will be modelled from a current street. I am going to style it in a weird way. The buildings will have a modern touch but will have slight characteristics of past and future styled buildings. I will also add model cars into the mix. I haven't decided which street to base mine off yet but everytime I get an idea I will edit this blog.
Street images
I have gathered a few images from outside the college and an image from google maps which are two different streets. I am going to have to make a 3D street soon so these are a few ideas for what I am going to make. Here are some of the images.
This is the image I have got from google images, this street is in Cardiff. It has both normal buildings and a castle. Which is a bit of variety.
Here is a nice tall building with will require some work with the amount of windows, it has a few background buildings too.
This house has some stairs on it with a few covers for the weird tent like things which i cannot remember the word for it.
Here is a close up of the same house, you can see a little building which will be simple to make.
Here is a simple image with few houses and a tent roof.
Finally the car park which is made of a few simple blocks and beams, also a few houses in the background.

Building Photoshopping
Today we have had to make certain changes to this building. First of all we took out the signs by drawing around the signs with the Lasso tool. Then we pressed shift and backspace, then clicked okay as it tries to add parts of the wall where the signs were. Then I cleaned up the wall with the heal tool. I also used the patch tool to add the lines on the bottom wall.
Finally I took out a window with the spot healing brush.

This is my finished result. I think I could have done more but need more understanding with some of the tools.
